About us

 

The World Shogi League (WSL) is an online shogi tournament for national teams, played annually in a league-based structure.

 

It's non profit, open to all, the aim is to strengthen the friendship across borders in the shogi-world, helping to popularize the game internationally.

 

The WSL was started in 2016, following the success of the pioneering World Shogi Tournament.

 

In the founding season 2016, 28 countries - representing all six continents - participated.
The WSL logo consist of the flags of all founding members.
